The Suffolk Coast is an area of great diversity. There are many attractions connected with the sea and rivers; windmills, tide mills, boat trips and museums as well as river walks and cycle routes. The wealth of ancient history ranges from Anglo-Saxon sites such as Sutton Hoo, to Norman castles at Orford and Framlingham.
The area has an abundance of natural attractions in the form of National Nature Reserves, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Sites of Special Scientific Interest. These include the RSPB reserve at Minsmere, the National Trust reserves at Dunwich and Orford as well as smaller Suffolk Wildlife Trust sites like Landguard and Framlingham Mere.
Felixstowe is an Edwardian seaside resort that has retained much of its charm and elegance over the years. Extensive and beautiful gardens line its long, level promenade and provide an interesting link to the town centre and Felixstowe has European Blue Flag and Seaside Award winning beaches.
